STRENGTH Attribute
i've had this question forever, and i've been reading over a lot of things, and i still dont have an answer. a straight answer, anyways.
i have nothing that requires strength, and no strength-based skills. i never use them. at all. does strength effect ANYTHING but requirements on shields/strength-based skills? i feel like i'm wasting points in strength when i have nothing involving strength. |

Yep. Strength gives you Damage+ and I think Armor Penetration. Hold your mouse over the skill in you Hero screen and it'll tell you what it does in addition to beefing up your skills and allowing you to equip Strength based shields.

The armor penetration that strength gives only effects attack skills, it doesn't add anything to normal attack's. IE with 10 str when you use an attack skill your attack will get a bonus 10% armor penetration, but if you just swing at a critter without using an attack skill you get 0% armor penetration.
Strength is used for strength based items, strength based skills and armor penetration when using attack skills. Although I'm not sure if strength adds any armor penetration if you use attack skills from other classes (ie ranger bow attacks). Also note that strength armor penetration does not stack AFAIK with other armor penetration mods (be it via skills or weapon mods). I believe when 2 armor penetrating mods come into play the highest mod is used. |

ok, thanks everybody. since i don't have any strength-based skills, and i never use them, i guess it's safe to take out all the points from strength (i had 9 strength...thats a lot of points...) and use it for something thats really helpful.

I don't know if it effects attack skills from other classess however. But as has been said, some people like strength and some people don't like it. What I'd say is try swapping the points out and see how you go. If you find your sucking hard-core after the swap then go back to strength... however if you find your doing better, then stick with what you changed to. thats why we have the ability to swap point's around so easily |
